I'm a female, so I'm allowed to cry during sad movies/scenes. That doesn't mean, however, that I will find it endearing if my date starts sobbing in the middle of it.. personally, I'm more inclined to consider the guy too emotional for me. Especially if it's a first date.
As for me, though.. the movie that can always make me cry my eyes out is Black Beauty. The scene when they're pulling Ginger away on a cart.. gets me every time.
Edited to add: Maybe I'm heartless, but I don't deal with overly-emotional people very well. I dated a guy who could cry at the drop of a hat and bawled every time he drank. It got old FAST. For a first date, I guess that would seem like sort of a warning sign for me.
