Are you sure about that? Because back when I was about -10 diopters, I was told that my vision could not be described in a "20/x" expression, but I was only halfway to "legally blind".

Aha, the rule is "anyone with vision worse than 20/200
that cannot be improved with corrective lenses is considered legally blind". So, if your glasses work, you aren't legally blind.
