First off, taking a life while defending you and yours isn't something easily forgotten, however, It is YOU who must make the decision of whether the one or four assholes who busted down your door just want your TV or want your little girl as a plaything.
Second, if in shooting back at home invaders, you inadvertantly kill your neighbor, case law SHOULD hold the home invaders responsible. This is usually not the case though because we still have bleeding heart pro criminal and anti self defense politicians who will prosecute YOU because you had the temerity to defend yourself instead of submitting like a little peon and letting paid agents of the state clean up your dead body.
Thirdly, if you find yourself faced with either beheading your opponent or sticking a 3 foot piece of steel through his rib cage, always hold the blade parralel to the ground so it doesn't jam itself between the bones.
