I would agree with this to a certain extent.
Not sure how true this is, but I heard the old chinese medicine medical model was almost the complete opposite of ours. You would pay your doctor regularly, who provided regular advice, checkups and guidance for living healthy as long as you were well.. then when you get sick, you dont have to pay your doctore at all, for treatment or anything, until your better. I guess the theory is, if you get sick in the first place, the doctor screwed up somewhere along the line:P A really novel idea, and really provides an incentive for doctors to get you well... either that or pretend you arent sick
