You said it was taken before any of us were born, leads me to believe it was probably completed before any of us were born as well. I can't decide if it is a bridge or a giant wall of some kind, I couldn't see a building or wall being needed that is that long so I am going to go with bridge, probably train. That leaves me with one idea
Lethbridge Viaduct, aka "High Level Bridge"
