Ahh, thanks for the reminder, Shani. I'll make sure my kids see this, too; they were awed by the last meteor shower we watched.
Being somewhat of an amateur astronomer since I was a little kid (which was shortly after the big bang) I've known about all the regular showers that occur. So luckily I've seen these showers from various locations around the world ...wherever I am when they happen I make sure to find a darkish location to watch. I usually take binoculars but naked eye viewing is usually best ...full naked hot tub viewing is also pretty nice.
The Perseids are comfy and convenient in the N.E. U.S. since they occur in August when it's warm around here so you can sprawl on a nice dark beach and watch.
