Three summers ago I helped with a caboose move. It was easier than most because on the 15ish km move there was no low powerlines or bridges and the guy that bought it was the owner of the lowboy truck that was used. So it was pretty much a case of dragging it onto the bed, moving it very very slowly (it was over-height and tippy), then dragging it off onto the prepared pad/ties/rails. Made life much easier than worrying about the $2000/day cranes.
Also, this is awesome. I would love to restore one. The one I saw was a newer CP, but it was too much metal and not enough character.
