Bamboo.
My sheets are 350 count bamboo from Target of all places and they only get better every time I wash them. I've had the same set for two years and I wash them every week. They're holding up great. Zero pilling, elastic is still great and they're softer than a baby's bottom.
I don't like stretchy sheets, which some of the modal types can be. I get stuck when I roll over.
