I'm with WK on this one. I have my FIL's old straight razor with replaceable blade. (A shaper blade available at beauty supply shops) Absolutely the smoothest my mug has ever gotten. Trouble is, I can't find the blades around here, so I'm stuck with regular razors.
BTW, the straight razor will give you a GREAT shave, but there is a very steep learning curve with it. Be very careful......
