Software costs shouldn't be more than $10,000, and another $10,000 for a laptop and desktop, and a final $10,000 is more than enough for a pair of camera bodies, a few lenses, tripods, and lights. That leaves you with $70,000 to hire a couple assistants and do some aggressive marketing campaigns. Sounds like win to me!

I work for a photography studio that does schools and I would NOT want that end of the business. It's way too labor intensive after the shoots with touch-ups, sizing and cropping, organizing by class and school, processing orders, etc., etc., all within a very tight timeframe. And one fuck-up, just one and you are in danger of losing the entire school because no one wants to have a pissed-off mom. You absorb any and all error costs as well. You should see this place when a mistake occurs-it's like bedlam.
