In my case the perceived lack of good games is not the problem, it's the lack of games that appeal to me. Sure all the games you mentioned got good reviewers, but having a 8.0+ score doesn't mean I'll buy it.
- Resistance- Just another FPS. Other games have done it better and are multi-platform.
- Warhawk - I won't touch because it's online only.
- Ratchet and Clank - Never played one, see no reason to start now. It reminds me of the Jak games.
- Motorstorm - Racing games just aren't my thing. The last racing game I really liked was Midnight Club 2
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - the only game you mentioned I would buy. However, I never buy a console when it just has one game I want.
Also, I don't own a Wii and I don't currently plan to buy one in the future. Right now, the only game I want for the PS3 that isn't on the 360, PS2 or PC is Final Fantasy XIII and that's not going to hit till 2009.
The PS3 in my house would be a game console, not a media center and currently it's not worth the cash. Should I get a HD tv at some point, my opinion may change.
That said, maybe I'm just an undercover Sony hater or "MS fanboi" but the PS3 still hasn't given me a reason to buy it, yet. I'm sure I'll own one eventually.
