My first car was transportation. I bought it as something I knew I'd be able to beat the holy hell out of; being rather poor at the time, reliability was a key factor (I didn't want to spend a lot on repairs).
When I finally found myself in a position to get something nicer I sent it off to the scrap heap without hesitation. I actively disliked that thing.
