I'll tell the story of my first two cars.
I drove my first off a cliff. Luckily it did not roll, and the frame was folded back a few inches. After topping off the fluids it still ran. I did not think to consider that the radiator was now pressed against the motor. A couple weeks later while driving on a hot day the car burst into flames on me on the highway.
My second car had alignment issues, and I would burn through wheel bearings, tie-rod ends and ball-joints way too quickly (spending more money on repairs than I would on a car payment). I parted a few things out, and decided a joy-ride to the junk yard was in order. After jumping the car a few times, and doing doughnuts in a parking lot till all you could see what smoke I dropped it off at the junkyard with 3 of 4 tires hissing out air. My friend driving behind me said it was the first time he has ever seen the undercarriage of a car on a public road.
I look back at both of these incidents and only think "wow, I was a fucking idiot".
