I actually choked up and had a tear in my eye as I handed it over to the next owner. The guy was very understanding and emotional, but also excited at the same time since he was going to own and restore it like it deserved.
My first car was my '67 XKE Jag Roadster that I bought in 1972 two weeks after I got my first job out of college. This was the car I "fell in love with" at first sight when I saw it in 1961 as an impressionable 12yo boy, one of my greatest interests was cars. It was in near perfect condition when I bought it and how it got from near perfect to needing a full restoration is a sad story that still makes me angry at myself for letting others do that to me/my car ...I was too gullible.
