It's not my favorite Bruce album. It has some good stuff, but I am turned off by the political crap. Plus there seems to be a lot more repetition on both Magic and Rising. Singing the same line over and over again in the chorus gets old. Plus there is repetition in the lyrics as well. He seems to have an obsession with "blood on the lips" and "Is anybody alive out there". The both of those phrases were featured heavily in the last few tours.
Everything he puts out is way above what most artists churn out these days, but to me this is one of his weakest albums.
For the last 25 years I have gone to most shows in a 30 mile radius, even if there were consecutive nights. But after the October 19th show in St Paul I don't think I will bother with the return engagement in March. The current tour is all about Bruce, with none of the E-Street band getting any real "spotlight" time, like the Rising tour. I get the feeling he is starting to take himself too seriously.
