Do we, Do we ....awww, now I had such an nice memory of my beloved black Lab. I love that dog. We named him Dewey. We thought it was appropriate since his father was a famous pedigree Lab called Admiral....I forget Admiral what, but one of those high faluting pedigree dog names, and his mother was also a show dog. Fortunately, he ended up with some good genes anyway. But we named him Dewey since we asked ourselves "do we want a dog or don't we" and we decided we do, so it was Dewey. The whole family loved that dog. Finally I had to put him down when he was 15yo, he could hardly see and could barely stand up on his own; I held him in a tight hug while the vet that had taken care of him since he was a puppy hit him with the O.D. shot. I still have his ashes, some of which we scattered in his favorite creeks and some in the waves off Martha's Vineyard where he loved to play in the surf.
