The problem with drugs is that 1) a lot of them are ineffective for me and 2) I can't take the ones that might actually be effective. Excedrin, for example, contains ASA, which I'm not able to use. As bad as the headache was, I'll take it over hemorrhaging any day.

The strongest painkiller I have available to me is the codeine. I did note that it didn't have any effect but admittedly left out that I didn't really expect it to; the only reason I took it at all was because the pain in my head was bad enough that standing up was difficult and passing out would be bad; I live alone, after all.

It's passed now, but there is a possibility that I'll face another one in the future, so having tips for dealing with them is probably a good one. LoganSnake's answer seems a bit drastic in retrospect, but at the time I might've actually considered it; for the future I'll remember the neck rub thing and see if that helps.
