Don't forget, Posada is a catcher. There's a reason why when they started the old-player's baseball league in Florida twenty years ago, all players had to be at least forty...except catchers, who could be 35 (a year younger then Posada).
Johnny Bench, Javy Lopez, Mickey Cochrane, Ted Simmons, and other catchers were either done or just about done by their 10th/11th full season in the league as a catcher (most had a couple seasons with a minimum of at-bats early, and even a half-season or two).
And the fact that Jeremy Guthrie did not receive a single vote for AL ROY is a crime. I have no problem with Pedroia or Young placing where they did, but Guthrie was great for most of the season until he got hurt at the end.
