I don't decide what I eat or don't eat based on ancient rules that have no application to my current reality. But I don't hold it against anyone who chooses to believe otherwise. And I love pork, too.
Hey, I never did hard research to prove/disprove this, but a few years ago I heard this explanation of how there is a kosher pig. Apparently, the cloven hoof thing is what defines the edibility or not for those who abide by these rules, and there is a pig in the Borneo/S. Pacific area around there that does not have a cloven hoof; so if an appropriate rabbi would slaughter this pig in an appropriate manner, it would be a kosher pig. Yes? No?
