i want to clear something up first...
i did not in any way shape or form intend to turn this thread into a women-rights rant...
Hal, i agree that people are certainly entitled to having an opinion on any product that they choose to buy...
i simply did not appreciate the WAY in which Montana referred to Carnie. i accept his further clarification about calling her a "thing". i still feel the "fat pig" comments, etc. where negative, judgemental and somewhat shallow... the thread topic is
"comments on this one are welcomed" so i commented...
i'm now feeling like my comments were not "okay"...
one other thing i'd like to add...
is this has thread now seems to have become the "anti-fat person who doesn't have the will power" issue...

look... extreme obesity is NOT a simple case of willpower vs. no willpower... it is an eating disorder... and addiction of sorts... a disease...
it's roots, reasons, treatment etc. are very complex... and to judge someone simply based on the fact that you don't feel she/he has will power or not in my opinion, is not fair.
whether or not you agree with why she had the surgery is really not what Montana was speaking to in his original thread... he simply said he that he thought Playboy was
"at the bottom of the barrel"
if we want to talk about body image issues, obesity, why people have eating disorders, etc. etc. etc. that imo, is an entirely different conversation and more that is much more complex than "should Playboy take picutures of once fat chicks".
