Great topic, and also very topical.
I grew up in the age of the CD, so my formative music listening days were spent listening to albums. Up until very recently, I was getting swept up in the digital revolution, buying and downloading a lot of mp3s and mp3 albums. But I started to notice something was missing in my experience. When I listen to music at the computer, it's always as an accompaniment to something else, and I'm not really listening the way I once used to.
So I'm going to start buying discs again... I miss the ritual of putting the album in and sitting down and doing nothing else. It's a great ritual, and a more effective way of making a connection with the music.
