6 times a week might be a little much...but I never found it to be a de-motivator. beating off just isnt the same, and is often not even satisfying.

my experience with working out was that when I would hit a peak, I was usually very defined and had veins sticking out everywhere. once I hit the peak, I'd usually take off for a while, put on some body fat, and I'd be able to peak higher the next time around.

there's also the possibility that you arent using effective work-out methods.
