Mattingly is super psycho when it comes to hitting. He obsesses about it constantly. He is still a student of the game and really understands the dynamics of hitting and the situations that a hitter will be in. He will be a real value to the Dodgers - although I think he is going to be "bench coach" instead of hitting coach. I think that means #2 behind Torre.
