Melatonin and 5-Hydroxy Tryptophan sort of work for me, but the melatonin gives me some of the most vivid and exciting dreams, the majority of which turn into nightmares, so I stopped using it. Plus, it doesn't really make me sleepy unless I've been lying in bed for a good while staring at the ceiling. It does work, because in the same instance without it I'd be staring at my ceiling for a lot longer, but it's not the most effective thing I've tried. The most effective tools are all illegal.
