Well, Montana, with your clarification I must say I agree with you. In searching for a recent picture of Carnie in order to show her current appearance - apparently misunderstanding the intentions of your original post as you've stated - I was definitely disturbed by how she seems to have become some sort of poster child for weight loss. Countless sites with "her story" on it are out there and sites talking about her as motivation for overweight people everywhere.
I fail to see how having such a complete lack of willpower so that one needs to have surgery like that in order to lose weight is any motivation to other overweight people.
Even if, say, she has some genetic disorder which made her that fat (most people who get as fat as she was that is the case) there is nothing motivating about getting surgery to lose the weight. That's like looking towards someone who got breast implants and calling them motivation for small breasted women everywhere.
