Ustwo, as Cyn knows I usually prefer either solo games or, like you, ones where I can be effective as a single player. That said, playing with a group of friends (first on WoW, now TF2) has been a kick in the pants. I would say to try it when there are 3+ of us on the same team, and if you still don't like it then at least you gave it a shot.
Oh, in thinking of it, have you tried the Spy? That seems like a class pretty well suited to solo characteristics...nothing better than disguising as an enemy (or cloaking) and getting behind their lines, getting a few backstabs in, sapping sentries, and all around helping the team when they do an offensive push without actually having to be in said group as they push...just a thought.
