My desktop has a wired or wireless connection and I can download torrents with either connection fine.
I know there was some trouble with our router but that was before it was updated... and I know some routers don't like torrenting. Before the router was updated it needed reset every now and then.
So, the torrents and the network settings for torrents might not be the problem.
