so my camera came in the mail today. it's a Canon S5 IS. you can find a great review of it on
www.dpreview.com, which is where i got plenty of information in making my decision. i'm not affiliated with them in any way, i've just loved them for years. anyway, here's what she looks like.
it's not as hefty as my old SLR, but i guess that's part of the point, eh? anyway, i worked the late shift tonight so i didn't get in until 10, leaving me no time to take pretty pictures. as i was fiddling with it i did find 2 really cool features though. the first is a "super-macro" which lets you focus on an object down to 0cm from the lens (yeah, you can actually touch your subject with the lens, though i don't recommend it for the lens' sake).
there's also a feature that allows you to pick a color (by lining up that color in a little square in the viewer) and setting it to only recieve that color (everything else is b&w). kinda gimicky, but fun... this is how it looks coming right out of the camera.
i'll try and get some nice shots from it tomorrow. if anyone else has any experience with this camera feel free to chime in!
