I wonder if it will have additional capabilities once OS X 10.5 is released; the closest rumor regarding that is that the iPhone will finally be able to sync the Notes. The
Macrumors Buyers Guide / iPod Touch gives no indication yet, but you can see the product life of the other iPods there, and rumors on replacements.
