Well, the XP encrypt is alright, it's much better than nothing. I haven't ever tried to crack it myself, but on the other hand I haven't seen any uber-easy cracks or anything.
Bios passwords are alright, as long as no one resets the bios.
Essentially, no matter what you do, something is better than nothing.
Hhhmm, I think that's about all that I have to offer...
