As I was trying to compose my "ten", the Scout Law that I learned in the Boy Scouts crossed my mind. It surprised me that it seems mostly appropriate, but since there are twelve I dropped "obedient" and "reverent" since whatever parts of those qualities mean a lot to me can be embodied in the others:
trustworthy
loyal
helpful
friendly
courteous
kind
drop this one (obedient)
cheerful
thrifty
brave
clean
drop this one (reverent)
