I don't have my vista computer handy to check but if you search for "*.scr" it should show the common directory I suppose.
vista's search is semi retarded in that it defaults to only searching indexed locations or some crap, go to the advanced settings and make sure its searching all files, not just indexed files.
as far as it being in the listing I forget what directory structure vista uses but for xp its /windows/system32.
Give it another looksee
