Well if you look at it as symbolizing a marriage that died, its very appropriate

For those of us that want to keep the ring around in case our children might want it, its a cute way to have it in a safe place

I would think a coffin is a perfect place of an inanimate object lol Its not like we put live people in them....people being buried are pretty inanimate
