I'd like to encourage more of our female members to apply. This is in no way any sort of indication that we have a quota on the sex of moderators - we will take on the people who we think are the best choices at this time, regardless of their sex - but it's definitely nice to have the options. So, if you're a female member and on the fence about whether or not to apply, I encourage you to do so. The worst thing that could happen is you don't get picked, which is, of course, no big deal
