I think I'd probably take the deal, then I'd get a job in Texas as an executioner. I'd be killing people that society has deemed unworthy of life. Otherwise, I could join the army, I wouldn't worry about getting killed myself because I'm automatically given a year of life right? Less grusome options: I'd visit cancer wards, or people with terminal illnesses who want to die. There are many ways to get around the killing aspect of the deal, unless there are some more rules you didn't tell us about?
