Thanks Phil, I've always enjoyed that letter, the follow-up to the letter, the 2LT was killed 3 weeks after writing this letter:

Marion Lee Kempner, from Galveston, Texas, was killed by a mine explosion near Tien Phu.After he disarmed one mine, another was tripped by one of his men.Although wounded by shrapnel, Lt. DaNang, you wre right in the middle of it. Thanks for all you did over there Phil, it is greatly apprciated, that's something people who served in Vietnam didn't or haven't heard enough of since they came back to the world.
