I would guess that "seeing things" would relate to a bit of hyperventilation and lack of oxygen, which can happen at orgasm. Or perhaps blood rushing to the head, depending on one's position.

No, I don't get all mystical and groovy when I orgasm. Maybe I need to practice more!
