I suspect that in prehistoric times, before the invention of privacy, couples routinely watched each other have sex. The ones who were turned on by watching probably had more sex and, therefore, more offspring. If this behavioral adaptation was genetically encoded, many modern humans may still carry an instinctive predisposition toward voyeurism.
