Biological Poetry
i can picture it now
platelets rushing into place
lining up like shingles on a roof
stop
red blood cells crashing against
each other
a scab
where to go, where to go
the network of collagen has been cut
prickle cells struggle producing anew
mitosis mitosis mitosis
grow
repair
basal cells push up squamous cells
knit together
it contracts like a zipper
skin glows newly pink
I will be posting more soon. I haven't written a lot of poetry recently, but I am inspired by the biology class I am currently taking and all of the language associated with the human body and its functions as they relate to myself.
