As it is, I believe the OP was intended to show off the broken message in action. While it is definately true this one person does not represent the republican party, he is still a member of it, and by putting "GOP" in the title the OP makes a tie in to an ongoing trend of mixed messages from that particular party. ... but as the Democrats are somewhat less hateful toward Gay Rights it would not be quite as damning.
