Definitely a roller coaster-escapism feel, as Pan said. I dragged ktspktsp to see it last night (in Iceland!) and the theatre was packed with teens, which was slightly annoying. We also had the requisite Icelandic FIFTEEN MINUTE INTERMISSION smack dab in the middle of the movie...
damn I hate that.
But anyway, I dunno, I liked it... I didn't go into it with any high expectations, but I know the story inside and out from the books, so it was a thrill (as always) just to see it all come to life in front of me. For what it is, I think they did a great job.
And if you didn't like it... READ THE BOOKS, dammit!
