I always find it interesting that people laud Hellen Keller for her support and representation of people with disabilities and ignore her political stance.
Helen Keller was a dedicated socialist as was Jack London and H.G. Wells.
She was certain that in a capitalist society people with disabilities would always remain second class citizens.
It took the passage of the ADA almost 25 years after her death to even begin the process of change.
