I had a brief part time job in a bank 5 years ago.
I just read in the papers that they'd arrested my former boss and her assistant on charges of embezzlement. Apparently they've stolen about $4million during the course of four years.

They were buying off poor people's identities and taking loans on their behalf. It started just as I was leaving the bank and as I worked in the loan department, I noticed how odd it was for people on the minimum wage to get these loans.

But I was just a dumb IT kid then and knew very little about banking and whether it was normal or not, plus it was my summer job so I wasn't very curious.

Then lots of my ex co-workers got fired during the next four years and they did talk about calling up inspectors, but I always assumed they were talking about work inspection since their employment contract had irregularities. Looking back now; boy was I naive.

Who knows, maybe I could've done anything for them to be debunked earlier if I paid more attention to what I was doing.
