I don’t know what your true goals are, but a modification in how you classify your gauging process may be step in a new direction. Instead of looking and / or measuring your weight, keeping track of your fat percentage in relation to your lean mass.

The nine point method chest, biceps, triceps, sub scapula, abs, supra iliac, waist, quad, and calf will not only give you an overall fat percentage but allow you to get specific area measurements in relation to your weight of the scale. This done in conjunction with a tape measure to assess muscle growth in the same areas will give you vital information.
If you start on a particular diet and you see your body weight on the scale drop, but you see your fat percentage increase and you lean mass decrease you know whatever you’re doing is taking you in the wrong direction and will eventually backfire. It may take several modifications to your diet before you determine what’s best for your genetic makeup.
