My 2 cents....
The CRV is an excellent choice. However, if you want a mini SUV that is meant for more than slick roads and packed dirt or rock, look elsewhere. What i'm saying is make sure you sport expectations of this "SUV" are low. Aside from that, I conpletely agree with KaiserSoze.
For more off roading capability, look at the Jeep Liberty and the Nissan Xterra.
