spiderman 2. god how i hated this movie. i tried to like it, then by about 10 minutes in i tried to tolerate it thinking ooo lookit the shit blowing up, but then, but then...then one of the characters would talk. by about a quarter of the way through this interminable piece of shit, i was making lists of the show i had seen the actors in...that seventies show, wings...then i started thinking that this was kinda like the love boat except stuff blew up and people flew around and hit each other. then i fell asleep for a while.
when i woke up, the pattern started all over again, but without the try-to-like-it part. i started thinking about driving tacks into my hands and how donig that couldnt be worse than sitting in the theater while this film played. then there was a sequence in which spidey, i guess, stopped for a second in front of an american flag and at that point it was only the fact that i was with other people that kept me from leaving.
THEN this film refused to end. blah blah blah this has to be it but no. blah blah blah i forgive you that has to be it but no. blah blah blah....
excrable. worst than that. a hellishly stupid day and a half spent trapped in a theater.
i would rather drink paint.
the chum scrubber: there are movies that involve comic or their derivates in gaming characters that do not make you think that drinking alot of paint would be better than sitting through this. chum scrubber is one of them. it's a dark film. i wont try to explain it--that's what imdb is for---i'll just say that it is a smart, diverting film. and there was some attention actually paid to the writing.
the cast is quite good: lots of big names in it, which is a little surprising given that its called chum scrubber.

i've seen a few others lately. of them, the best was "mysterious object at noon" which is great and i would recommend that you drop whatever you are doing and go now--just drop it---and go find the film.
