Well, I own both the EOTech 553 and the Aimpoint Comp M3 and I like them for different reasons. The EOTech has a lower profile and you don't have to buy separate mounts, but I acquire my shot a little faster with the Aimpoint - there's just something about that simple red dot in a round field just draws the eye I suppose. The EOTech's double reticle, on the other hand, is relatively busy but not too distracting. Aimpoint has the edge with battery life of course but the EOTech 553 isn't too bad. The Aimpoint is easier to operate with gloves.
Both are fine sights but I'm going to give my edge to the Aimpoint only for the fact that I shoot better with it.
The washout of the ACOG reflex sights in daylight is awful! But I do like the chevron reticle ... still, it ain't enough for me to get an ACOG.
