I had some rusted-out Datsun Pickup, in faded red. I don't even remember what year it was... wait, I found it, 1976. I think this is a picture of one of them...
...my dad found it for $500 in 1985. It also had a Baha bumper on the front. My dad was afraid I'd hit something, and all that would be left would be me holding the steering wheel in the middle of the road.
He replaced it shortly thereafter with a 1972 BMW 2002, painted Colorado Sunrise. Another $500 car, but a much better deal. And you could see it a mile away.
