This might be a little off topic but how up and coming was Lee before he died anyway? Rapid Fire was a decent movie but it made more noise as a 2 am HBO movie than it did in the box office and I dont remember the Crow making much noise even with the hype of the death...

Well there are two things to consider:
1) Brandon Lee was actually a pretty damn good actor and a good looking chap. Had he the opportunity, following The Crow, it's likely that he would have made additional Crow movies or even moved on to something more mainstream.
2) Everyone loves Bruce Lee, and we were all left hungry for more when he tragically died. I never had the opportunity to meet Brandon Lee, but many people said that he had his father's charisma and drive, and as such he could have risen in his father's wake. Even with a fraction of the skill of his father, he could have continued the tradition on making mainstream martial arts movies and could have been bigger than Van Dame in the early to mid 90s. Of all the people out there, I know he would have made the best Neo in the Matrix.
