Her super strength was a Ruby Slipper. She has the power all along. Once she overcame Jessica, she had access to it directly. Turns out she WAS bat-shit crazy all along.
That was a cool moment, though, when she and Peter meet for the first time. Suddenly he's got super strength. "You go take care of your family. I've got this." BLAM!
